Handforged from 80crv2 High Carbon Steel. This Epic EDC is the first of its kind! The Shipwreck EDC!!! There was an old shipwreck off the coast of my town called "The Brass Wreck." Most all of the old wooden ship had disentigrated leaving only the pieces of brass. I always thought that was really cool. It also forever engrained the whole Brass on the bottom of the Gulf being part of old shipwrecks. So when wanting to make a blade that harnessed some of that lore I knew I had to make and entire handle out of solid brass! Anyways, lets go back to the top.... This hand forged blade received an epic in house heat treat. Im even impressed by the performance of our forged 80crv2 with the in house heat treat! It really is a standout for the sharpness and edge holding properties. The blade features free hand ground hollow grinds, hammer forged texture left on the flats, deep engraved skull and bones "Grail Mark", and a dark aged finish. The handle, as previously mentioned, is handmade from chunks of solid brass! I shaped the pieces in my "Relic" recessed fit up style. It is held in place with West Systems marine grade epoxy and hollow brass pins. After shaping all the contours of the handle I then spent a great deal of time adding all the texture you see. Through my process ive darkened the deeps and lightened the highs. I've also hot rid of any and all "hotspots' or sharp edges. The blade is very comfortable to hold and use! I pulled out all the tricks in my book to lower the weight of this blade. (the brass is heavy stuff). So i was able to lighten it up to a manageable weight of 7oz. Even at 7oz.. for its size it really feels like something special. Like heavier than you would think for its size. But again this blade is a heirloom quality highly functional piece of art! Im including a handmade leather sheath with this blade. You can have Right of Left hand belt loop carry vertical sheath or a pocket carry sheath(the pocket option would be ambidextrous with no clip, just a nice fitting leather sleave style sheath that holds the blade and goes in your pocket. Due to the weight the pocket sheath option would be really good because it will sit at the bottom of your pocket.). These are the only sheath options for this blade.
Items will ship within 5 business days of purchase. (thats pretty fast considering I will be custom making the sheath to your choice) Free shipping for Continental USA residents. USPS priority tracked.
