The Relic is a super unique piece!  Handforged from 80CRV2 high carbon steel with our top notch in house heat treat! This blade is not only tough but it will take and hold a sharp edge! The blade features free hand ground bevels, skull and bones "grail" mark, Pirate Forge branding, Dark stonewash finish on bevels, hammer forged texture left on the flats, polished perimeters, integral lanyard slot, and a razor sharp edge.  What makes this piece really unique is the handle! This is on solid piece of stabilized wood. After I forged the blade out I then sent it through a length 4 step normalization process.  After that I took it to my free hand (hand cranked) mill machine to mill out the entire slot were the wood goes as well as that lanyard slot.  The wood is keyhole shaped and hammered into the hole just like a puzzle piece. The blade is then fully hardened and tempered then differentially tempered all around the keyhole tang to add strength.  I then use marine grade West Systems epoxy as well as two stainless Vertical pins to secure the handle in place. I then shape/handsand/buff the wood and contour the tang.   It looks super cool, feels great, and makes for a very one of a kind functional piece of art!  The "Relic" has been my carry blade for a while. Im still carrying the first one I forged last year!  It always makes a statement when folks see the keyhole handle and vertical pins.  Not to mention the awesome hand forged blade... It's a showstopper!  This piece comes with custom "Tang Danglers" brand dangler and a Custom Pirate Forge leather pocket sheath. Both dangler and sheath are shown in listing pictures.
