I present to you the Super Santoku! Handforged from 80crv2 High Carbon steel and given a top notch in house heat treat that takes and holds a screamin sharp edge. The blade features full flat grinds, engraved grail mark, satin finish, polished perimeters, and hand forged texture mark visible near spine and on ricasso area. Now lets talk about the handle... This is where it gets special. It is made from Vintage Westinghouse LE Micarta that was sourced from an old shipyard in Louisiana. The Avondale Shipyard to be exact. Westinghouse is well known for making the highest quality of micarta known to man starting back in the 1920's! This Westinghouse Micarta is also special because its "LE" Micarta! LE Micarta was specially made for marine use applications. WEstinghouse no longer makes micarta. There is only a limited amount of this stuff left in the world. It is highly desired and not cheap when you find some for sale. I was able to obtain a good bit of this exclusive material to be used here at the Forge. The handle material being around 100 years old has visible dark oxidation spots just adding to the mystic. The LE Micarta is paired with abalone bolsers, black G10 spacers, and white G10 liners paired with black G10 front pin/ solid polished brass rear pins. Listing price is for blade only.
