Compact "Guillotine"

The blade that pretty much started it all..... The "Guillotine".... I would say that this blade is the greatest representation of pirate forge.... straight to the core... 8 months into making blades I was invited on the  History Channel Show "Knife or Death."  They didnt say anything other than its american ninja meets forged in fire.... be prepared to destroy anything and everything.... Thats when I came up with this absolutely epic piece of edged steel! I absolutely demolished the course.  It even made an impression of professional wrestler and host of the show Bill Goldberg.  So much that he purchased the second one I made. Anyways it was time to make on epic Guillotine.... One at 50% the size of the classic one... I call it the Compact Guillotine!! I took it a step further and forged this one out of Pirate Forge Procut Damascus!  it took me several days just to forged out this steel.  An initial 43 layer stack of 15N20, 1084, and Procut Steel.  After forging out that billet I took 5 pieces of that and added 6 slaps of 1084 high carbon steel then forged that out into the final billet.  It made for one epic pattern!  Aside from the pattern this Piece also features a bullet proof in house Heat Treat.  This blade can be seen chopping into my old steel forge without damage. (video on social media) The compact Guilltine features  flat freehand ground primary bevels, forged texture left on flats, fullers, skull and bones Grail Mark, and a razor sharp mirror polished edge.  The blade went through hours and countless cycles of acid etching to reveal the pattern then a full day of coffee etching to get the look you see here. For the handle I wanted to do something special.  The very first Guillotine I made (as seen on History Channel's Knife or Death Show) was made from upcyled Teak wood.  So for this first ever Compact Guillotine I used just that.  A super old piece of Real Vintage Teak I locally sourced from a boatyard here in Pensacola, Florida.  This old teak is hard to come by.  It is naturally water proof, rot proof, and bug proof.  These reasons are why it was so often used on boats back in the day. The Teak on this handle was sourced from a boatyard that had been operating since the 1970's making this wood possibly 50 years old if not older. That's just really cool in itself.  I connected the Teak wood using 7 solid copper pins and 2 hollow copper pins with marine grade epoxy.  You can feel as well as see the awesome texture/grain of the wood!  This piece also comes with Custom made Leather Sheath shown in listing.  Sheath features heavy duty veg tanned leather, hand forged copper rivets, heavy duty Cross Draw Belt Loop (designed of right handed person wearing sheath on left hip), black stitching, leather snap retention strap, detailed engravings, and a rustic hand stained finish.  This a Grail Level Piece for Sure!
