Hand forged from 52100 high carbon steel. This blade started as a large ball bearing, but then was transformed into this heirloom quality culinary tool you see here! So many details... Flat primary grinds, distal taper, perfect balance, super tight grained in house heat treat (sitting at 63 hrc post temper!!!!! if you know you know...), forged texture flats, hand engraved, forged skull and bones touch mark, and forged integral bolster. I put a handsanded finish on the blade before forcing a gorgeous patina. The handle is Nichols Stabilized Blood Vein Redwood. Super highly figured and unique piece of wood. Black leather spacer and a handturned tang cap... The fit up is what I call a capped through tang design. Again just adding to that one of a kind uniqueness.
